GPE 96 - Graduate Presentations & Communication Skills: This course is integral for the students’ success in Master’s programs because it helps students develop their ability to persuade, inform, and motivate an audience. It covers key competencies such as identifying audience, purpose, and context; researching and organizing information; preparing and delivering effective visual aids; and communicating concisely in English. The other component of this course builds competency in cross-cultural communication through developing cultural perspectives. The course will be coupled with activities that will include impromptu technical-themed presentations, evaluations by the professor, and feedback from peers.
GPE 97 - Graduate Reading Strategies: Utilizing individual students’ course of study, this course is designed to give graduate-bound students a thorough grounding in strategies and techniques for efficient and effective reading of complex, dense texts expected of graduate degrees. Through the problem-analysis/team-solution model, graduate students will build foundations for critically analyzing texts and utilizing them for resolving real-world issues in business and technology, while amassing a graduate-level English lexis.
GPE 95 - Graduate Academic and Technical Writing: Aspiring leaders in technology and science must be able to communicate their ideas in an understandable, logical, and persuasive manner; effective writing in English is essential for both graduate-level students and professionals. Through the exploration of efficient techniques and writing processes for targeting specific audiences with effective content, this course helps students develop the skills needed to write clearly and succinctly, in both academic and technical settings.
GPE 91 - Academic and Business Writing Skills: Aspiring business leaders must be able to communicate their ideas in an understandable, logical, and persuasive manner; effective writing in English is essential for both graduate-level students and professionals. This course helps students develop the skills needed to write clearly and effectively, in both academic and business settings, through the exploration of efficient techniques and writing processes for targeting specific audiences with impactful content.
Global Launch does not offer any financial aid or scholarships.
Yes. All students with F-1 visas are required to buy health insurance through Global Launch unless they provide proof of the alternate ASU-approved health insurance. For questions, contact GlobalLaunch@asu.edu.
F-1 students may work on campus a maximum of 20 hours per week. Global Launch F-1 students may not legally work off campus. If you have any questions about what jobs you can accept, speak with a student advisor for information. Global Launch does not want students to risk losing their student status.
There are no final exams. Grades are determined by ongoing class attendance, participation, in-class assessments, assignments and projects
Bring your passport, visa, 1-20, measles vaccination record and method of payment.
